Susie MacMurray is truly one of those multi-talented artists who do it all; she sculpts, draws and creates incredible installations. Her latest piece, Widow can be viewed at Victoria & Albert Museum’s “Power of Making” exhibit in London through January 2, 2012. It is made entirely of needles, around 100,000 dressmakers pins to be exact, which gives a visual representation of the constant pain that one suffers from a lost loved. Widow is one piece of Susie’s four-part series. It takes my breath away how the cold sharp silent objects speak such volumes. Please, check out more of Susie’s work, including her installations which are just as magnificent (I’m talking hairnets, people! Thousands of hairnets!) on her website, here.
