Rafael Gómezbarros has called an invasions, of sorts. His installation have overtaken historical monuments in Columbia for the public to reflect on issues of displacement and migration. I would have to say this is highly effective. Rafael’s art is usually about the earth. According to his blog, the large ant invasion was to remind us the importance of our earth and that it is the only thing that sustains us and awaits us.
